Liam is responsible for assisting in the delivery of our planning projects. He has an up to date understanding of prominent contemporary planning and regeneration practice and ensures that this knowledge is transferred into solutions that maximise our clients opportunities. Liam is particularly interested in understanding how different places work and the meaning they have to local people, and has expressed this interest by assisting in the delivery of a number of community regeneration strategies. As part of this process Liam has worked with community groups, to help them increase their understanding of planning, regeneration and design.
What do you think makes a successful place 'work'?
Incorporating how people use, perceive and feel about a place into a design or planning solution.
What is your favourite place & why?
Berlin – it is a city that is full of history, but which also has a cutting modern feel.
What interests you outside of work?
I like to play as many different sports as I can – though rugby will always be my main sporting passion. I also like learning about new things and places.
What place do you most want to visit in the next ten years?
South America – I have been travelling previously but never had the chance to get there. It sounds like a great place, full of culture and sights, so its high on my 'to do list'.
What activity do you most want to undertake in the next ten years?
I would like to be able to speak Spanish fluently, though the chances of this are unlikely as I have only just started to learn and Juan our (Landscape Architect) is a very poor teacher!
