Advanced Urban Design Professional
In August our team will be relocating to new accommodation in the
Creative Quarter in Central Cardiff. Our studio is a new creative workspace situated above one of the City’s iconic Victorian arcades, two minutes walk from Cardiff Central railway station and amongst the best of the City’s shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. We are a responsible employer, recognised by our status as an Investor In People.
We need to attract new urban designers, with experience of working in the UK at various levels and will appoint only those professionals that meet our requirements.
Assistant Urban Designer
We are looking for someone to support our senior professionals to work on a variety of urban design and planning projects. Our workload is varied so the individual will benefit from exposure to a wide range of projects and professional challenges. We are looking for a professional with a built environment related degree and a Post Graduate qualification in Urban Design. Experience in consultancy will be desirable as will flair and efficiency at VectorWorks and Photoshop. A willingness to learn and make an enthusiastic contribution to our team ethos is an essential requirement of this role.
Urban Designer
Our preferred candidate will have around five years experience and have a Post Graduate qualification in Urban Design and ideally be a member of professional institution (RTPI, RIBA or LI). It is essential that applicants can demonstrate a strong portfolio of consultancy projects that span a range of different spatial scales and design challenges. Experience at working for public as well as private sector clients is also important.
We would like to appoint an urban designer who is enthusiastic and flexible, taking a lead role on some projects and a supporting role on others.
Advanced Urban Design Professional
We are looking for a commercial masterplanner and urban designer who has proven experience of securing, managing and completing projects. Given the requirements of this role we are willing to be flexible about the precise title of the position and would welcome an initial exploratory discussion with potential candidates.
Ideally this individual will have at least ten years experience and part of this time will have been spent working directly with developers and landowners.
Our ideal professional for this role will be familiar with the statutory planning process and be capable of coordinating multi-disciplinary teams as well as possessing a confident hand drawn style and be comfortable with the latest IT packages. We are looking for a good natured and motivated professional to participate in the overall development of the business and our team ethos, which will include mentoring junior staff and maintaining the profile of the business.
