The Urbanists were commissioned by Lioncourt Homes to produce a masterplan and associated material for a full planning submission. We worked closely with the client group to achieve a layout which respected the semi rural nature of the site, whilst achieving an appropriate density and character.
The masterplan seeks to build on and enhance the site’s surrounding natural features and connections with the countyside. Therefore the development is largely outward facing, ensuring existing and proposed public rights of way and footpaths are well overlooked and are located within strategic green corridors.
The masterplan is also based upon a clear hierarchy of streets which includes the creation of a shared surface homezone with an entrance square, as well as more intimate private drives and courtyards.
The Urbanists produced a full proving detailed layout, site sections and elevations to support the full application submitted by Lioncourt Homes in August. The Urbanists also prepared the design and access statement to support the application.
