Merthyr & Treharris Building Improvements
The Urbanists have been supporting Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council to improve the quality of buildings in Merthyr Tydfil and Treharris. Our support started with the creation of a set of building design guidelines for building owners, which became adopted planning policy by the Council.
We have worked very closely with potential applicants to develop costed proposals for potential improvements to traditional shopfronts, ornate listed buildings and late twentieth century buildings. We have co-ordinated the planning applications for some of the improvements, including lsited buildings.
Powell Dobson Architects have taken on the detailed architectural stage of the work and several contracts for improvements are currently on site with many more to follow.
