Urbanists compete in the Do You Dare challenge

On Saturday the 23rd of March, The Urbanists entered two teams to complete in the Do You Dare challenge,  a physical multi-activity fundraising adventure for Ty Hafan, a local charity dedicated to the support of life limited children.

The two teams were entered into different event categories; one in the challenge events & another in the elite events. All members carried out a series of grueling (and sometimes silly) activities in sub zero temperatures, including just some of the following:

  • Climbing (one team member is blindfolded, the other 3 coordinate)
  • Orienteering
  • Canoeing ( 2 members canoe across reservoir, high 5 the other two team members and canoe back)
  • Swamp Crossing (walking across a plank of wood blindfolded)
  • Cycle challenge
  • Mud Crawl
  • Log lifting, squatting and running
  • Large Tyre Flip - 80 times (Liam’s favourite!)
  • Combat assault course
  • 300m Sack relay (Mark’s favourite!)

The Elite team (Juan, Chris, Huw and Liam) won the event, finishing in an astonishing time of 3 hours and 33 minutes. You can view more pictures of the event on Ty Hafan's facebook page here.

We have successfully smashed our target of £300 (at over £800 and counting...)

A huge thankyou to all of our generous sponsors.
