Street Design Receives Commendation
Our work with Hamilton Baillie Associates and Anthony Jellard Associates at Widemarsh Street Hereford has been 'Highly Commended' in the 2011 Street Design Awards.
Widemarsh Street has been transformed from a traditional and run down street into a new pedestrian friendly thoroughfare. The materials palette was selected to utilise local materials whilst reflecting surrounding natural stone. The design ethos was based upon creating a high quality slow speed traffic environment where pedestrians had right of way. Of course, the design removed all unessential signs, lines and regulatory markings.
The scheme is intended as a critical piece of enabling infrastructure to connect the City Centre with development opportunities to the north.
