Circuit of Wales application success

A full Council meeting resolved to approve the project on Wednesday 10 July, following the Council Planning Officer’s recommendation that permission be granted. It is projected that the low carbon automotive centre of excellence will attract 750,000 visitors to the region, create thousands of jobs and deliver £50million annually to the UK economy.

The Urbanists co-ordinated the application on behalf of the Heads of the Valleys Development Company, following over two years of detailed planning work and the coordination of a multidisciplinary team of consultants.

The project, proposed for development north of Ebbw Vale, has also benefited from extensive liaison with a variety of business leaders and a comprehensive range of community consultations. Heads of the Valleys Develpoment Company has invested heavily in the pre-planning stages of the project and the Council’s resolution is an important step in the approval process which will give investors the confidence to invest further in the delivery of this transformational project.

The Urbanists are now in the process of agreeing the S106 Agreement and will shortly be managing the discharge of planning conditions and reserved matter applications.
