A 'learning journey' to Croatia
We have recently returned from a “learning journey” based study tour set in the beautiful Croatian town of Rovinj. The long weekend away consisted of business planning seminars and innovation workshops with tourism and innovation expert Professor Terry Stevens. The highlight of the trip was the opportunity to collaborate with a leading Croatian landscape design practice: ‘Studio Kappo’ on a live project which will have a significant impact on the future of Rovinj.
The team used the time as an opportunity to focus on the future of our business using their surroundings as inspiration. The peninsula of Istria, where Rovinj is based, is one of Europe’s newest cultural and tourism destinations. In recent years the area has rebranded itself as a destination by using design, innovation, culture of the local community and sense of place as major selling points.
The Urbanists spent a weekend of working hard whilst enjoying the local gastronomy, sampling regional wines and appreciating the much needed sun! The outcomes of the event will be integrated into the new business plan which will be available on our website next month.
